Elder Scrolls Online: Greymoor – How to Unlock Antiquities

If you’re a bit confused about Antiquities, don’t worry, we’re here to clear some things up! Essentially, the new Antiquities system allows players to scry and excavate hidden treasures throughout the land of Skyrim. The system introduces two new skills, scrying and excavation.

To unlock the Antiquities system, you’ll need to visit the city Solitude in Western Skyrim. Specifically, you’ll need to track down a woman by the name of Verita Numida. You’ll find her inside a building on the east side of Solitude. Speak with her and she will give you the Antiquarian’s Eye tool and will have you complete a quest for her that will show you how to use your new tool.

Elder Scrolls Online: Greymoor – How to Use Antiquities

To use Antiquities in Elder Scrolls Online: Greymoor, you’ll need to gather and track leads that you collect while visiting different areas. Leads can be earned by completing quests, fighting enemies, opening chests, or simply exploring. To check your leads, simply open up your in-game Journal and navigate to the Antiquities Codex area. It’s worth noting that leads will expire after 30 days, so you won’t be able to hold on to them forever. To quickly level Antiquities, you’ll want to grind the green leads until you reach Level 3, but we will talk more about this later

Once you’ve decided on a lead you’d like to pursue, you can scry the lead from inside your Journal. Essentially, you’ll have to participate in a minigame where you’ll need to connect different points together. The more points you connect, the fewer leads you’ll have to chase. For example, if you connect all six, you’ll be shown the exact location to visit so you can excavate. But if you miss one or more, you may have multiple locations popup on your map, but only one will have the treasure.

There are different levels of leads, which correlate to its quality. The higher quality the lead, the better chance you have of getting high-tier items. However, you’ll have to unlock high-quality leads, you’ll have to reach certain levels by gaining XP. Basically, you follow low quality leads to earn XP. As you gain more XP, you can chase higher quality leads.

Now that we’ve explained a bit about how Antiquities work, it’s time for the fun part. Let’s take a look at how to quickly level Antiquities in Greymoor.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Greymoor Level Antiquities Quickly

If you’re just starting out, to quickly level Antiquities in the Elder Scrolls Online, you need to repeatedly scry and excavate green leads in a specific zone. It doesn’t really matter which zone you do this in, but we’d suggest picking a small zone so you don’t have to waste a lot of time running around. However, you’ll want to use green leads until you reach Level 3 because you can use them over and over again and won’t disappear once you’ve completed them like the others.

When you’ve reached Level 3, you’ll want to do the same thing but with blue leads until you reach Level 5. However, your blue leads will disappear, so if you don’t have any available, just go back to the green leads until you get more. Once you’ve reached Level 5, start on your purple leads, if you run out, complete your blue leads and then green leads.

Eventually, you’ll reach Level 7 and will want to start on your gold leads. If you run out of those, use your purple, blue, then green leads (in that order). If you continually grind this process over and over again, you should find that you’ve leveled your antiquities skill pretty quickly! Below we’ve included a table that will show you exactly how to quickly level Antiquities.
