How to Craft a Magic Wand in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

So, you’re after a Magic Wand in Animal Crossing. We reckon that’s a decent pickup, and not only because they’re actually pretty cute. Now, for the uninitiated, you can actually use the Magic Wand to do something pretty nifty in the game – you can store a bunch of premade outfits using it, which will allow you to change into an entire outfit at the swish of a wand instead of having to put various pieces on from your wardrobe. The Magic Wand seems like it would be pretty rare, but you’re actually guaranteed it. Here’s a little bit more on that topic.

One character that you’re guaranteed to bump into as long as you’re wandering out and about in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is Celeste. You may recall that we wrote a little about her because we love her so much not so long ago, and we confirmed that you can definitely find her on your island as long as the time is right. Celeste will start kicking around your town after you’ve had some time to settle in, and she’s going to visit you at night on a particularly starry night. When you see her, she’s going to have a gift for you – the DIY recipe for the Magic Wand. Yup, this is guaranteed.

Celeste will also run through a bunch of things for you while she’s there, including how to wish upon shooting stars. She will also tell you a little bit more about how all this stuff works when it comes to magic wands, including what she reckons a magic wand can do. While she’s out and about in your town, you’re going to encounter a bunch of shooting stars jetting across the sky. Every time you hear one make its little whizzing around before it jets across your screen, press up and A to “wish’ on it. You’ll know it’s worked when your character has entered a pose that looks a bit contemplative and isn’t just your regular stance. Wish upon as many stars as possible.

The next day after wishing on all those stars, your job will be to run around the island and to pick up Star Fragments. These drop from stars that you’ve wished upon at night. To craft a Magic Wand in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you’re going to require the following materials:

  • 3 Star Fragment
  • 1 Large Star Fragment

Once you have the requisite materials, all you have do is craft the Magic Wand like you would with any other DIY item (at your toolbench, for example), and voila! It is now yours, and you can use it to save a bunch of preset outfits.

Now that you’ve got our guide on how to craft a Magic Wand in Animal Crossing New Horizons, we reckon that it’s only a matter of time until you pick one up for yourself and you can indulge in all of your glamor fantasies at the wave of, well, a wand.
