Final Fantasy VII Remake’s release is not delayed but that doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll get it on day one. With COVID-19 (coronavirus) concerns rising and more quarantines are being called for, many aspects of daily life are being limited and yes – that includes shipping non-essential items. Following Amazon’s confirmation that they would be delaying “non-essential” item delivery, many have been wondering what that means for their favorite game releases including the Final Fantasy VII Remake.
Several Final Fantasy VII Remake pre-purchasers have shared that they received a message from Amazon saying that their parcel delivery would not arrive on schedule. Amazon’s gaming division took to Twitter to correct that message, saying that the release date is still slated for April 10th, though Square Enix jumped in to state that their message doesn’t necessarily mean a guarantee of on-time delivery:

Though the set release date has not changed, they added that “the unforeseeable changes in the distribution and retail landscape which varies across countries, it is increasingly likely that some of you will not get hold of your copy of the game on the release date.”
They added, “We are monitoring the situation on a daily basis and working with our partners, retailers, and Square Enix teams across Europe and the Americas, to do everything we can to ensure as many of you as possible can play the game on April 10. We want to keep you updated ahead of the release and intent to post again this Friday, March 20, with any further news.”
