With the small teaser during CES regarding the PlayStation 5’s logo and release window, the rumors are kicked back up in full force regarding what the next generation will have to offer. From backwards compatibility to insanely efficient tech, there has been a lot of talk about the looming new generation. That being said, one insider is saying not to believe the latest PlayStation 5 spec leak.
‘Kleegamefan’ is a notable insider that has provided a long-string of accurate information regarding many facets of gaming, including the PlayStation 5. With the recent GitHub Oberon leak that teased a few alleged details about the next generation, the insider told Wccftech that what was released is not accurate and does not match up with what he has claimed to be able to confirm.
The biggest part of the GitHub leak was the 9.2 Teraflops figure for the console, something that definitely little a flame under the tooshies of gamers. Whether that’s true or not remains to be seen, but according to Kleegamefan, it’s not something that should be taken as fact due to its inaccuracies. That being said, the GitHub leak also revealed a ton of info about the Xbox Series X and has seemingly been vetted by tech experts DigitalFoundry.
As for when we’ll be getting info straight from the source, Sony has already confirmed that they will be hosting their own PlayStation event next month, so it’s possible – and almost more likely – that the big reveal will happen then rather than forgoing their own festivities. That being said, Microsoft ditched their own big Xbox-centered event last year in favor of the Game Awards, so really anything is possible at this point.
