How to Go Play With Your Buddy in Pokemon GO

There seems always to be a new update for Pokemon GO players to enjoy, and the recent Buddy Adventure one brought a whole new fold to the high-profile game. Players can now choose a character to join them on their adventures. Trainers can play with and feed their companion, have them aid them in battles, and have them earn candy. Fortunately, we have everything you need to know to play with your buddy covered for all of your playful folks out there. 

Pokemon GO Play With Buddy

The process to play with your buddy is not a complex one, but will require you to be Trainer level 2 and have a character assigned to your buddy slot. You will then need to select the icon for the character in the lower left-hand corner of your screen next to your Trainer Profile. Select the “Play!” button next and tap your screen when you see yellow footsteps appear. If you are in AR mode and are having trouble getting the character to appear, turn it off, and your companion will automatically appear on your screen. 

Once your companion has appeared on your screen, you can then play with it by rubbing it or by feeding it with a press of the berry icon on your screen. 

There are surely plenty of players who are currently enjoying their time with their new companions and will be forging memories with them heading into the future of the fan-favorite title.
