Nintendo also added a spiffy little tagline to tease what sort of news is ahead. According to the official Nintendo site, the upcoming Direct will be “roughly 40 minutes of information focused on 2019 Nintendo Switch games, including Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield and Luigi’s Mansion 3.”

So what about that tagline screams new Super Smash Bros. Ultimate reveal? Well, nothing directly but there was a leak earlier this week about a new hero smashing his way onto the stage from the SNK universe. Pair the leak with an updated description on the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate site, it’s hard not to think that something Smash-related will also be included.

As for Pokemon Sword and Shield, it will be interesting to learn more about the latest entry into this beloved franchise especially with its different playstyle and even more adorable little pocket monsters. It’s also possible we will see more of the Pokemon Edition Nintendo Switch Lite on the way, perhaps even a new one altogether. We’ll learn soon enough!
