Perhaps one of the more peculiar little quirks is the seemingly random appearance of green flags next to certain jobs in Super Mario Maker 2’s story mode. These will appear after you’ve finished some of the jobs, but you may not know why. It can be annoying, so we thought we would tell you the answer to what does the green flag mean in Super Mario Maker 2.

What Does The Green Flag Mean In Super Mario Maker 2

The green flag indicated a job where you’ve used Luigi’s help to complete a job. It basically signifies when you’ve needed a little bit of guidance to finish that particular task, but it is also nothing to be ashamed of. If you hit the minus button when you need help, Luigi’s building tools are there to help.

If you can’t stand having it there though, you can get rid of them by simply completing the job again without Luigi’s assistance. That means making sure you go through it without any help, which should make you better at the game as a result. Nintendo games are all about incremental progress until you’ve mastered the systems, and this is no different. It’s all a part of the learning experience.
