E3 2019 officially kicks off this weekend with EA Play leading the charge! Since EA is taking it back to simpler times with letting the games speak for themselves, the Xbox stage is the place to tune in at to learn more about Respawn’s upcoming take on the Star Wars universe with Jedi: Fallen Order.
Xbox took to their brand’s Twitter account to share the good news of a bunch of first-looks, including that of the new Star Wars game. This will be the first time we’ve seen gameplay since the title was announced, with the previous trailer being more narratively focused to show off the game’s protagonist and strife.

We learned a lot about the upcoming title earlier this year when we attended the Star Wars Celebration in Chigao. “Many Star Wars fans, ourselves included, are really interested in the dark times, so we wanted to explore that mysterious, dangerous period,” said Stig Asmussen, Game Director, Respawn Entertainment. “The team at Lucasfilm have been amazing collaborators, helping us explore and further develop this part of the timeline where the Empire is at the height of its power and any remaining Jedi are in hiding. Within this narrative, we’ve crafted a game with intense, yet thoughtful and fun melee combat using the lightsaber and Force powers, allowing anyone to fulfill their Jedi fantasy.”
In case you missed our previous coverage about the new game, it was confirmed once more that this is a single-player, story-rich game, one in which is set after the events of Order 66 and Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Cal himself is a young Padawan that has survived a string of tragic events, forced to be on the run as he learns what it means to be a Jedi.
As for the game itself, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order makes its debut on November 15 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
