Pokemon GO showed us that – at least for a limited time – world peace was achievable. OK, maybe not that far but the mobile phenomenon definitely provided unfiltered joy as trainers-in-training took to their local streets to “catch ’em all” with their neighbors. Now it looks like Microsoft is wanting to replicate that success with a Minecraft take on the AR experience.
Microsoft recently teased a new project involving Minecraft that will officially be revealed on May 17th as part of the 10-year celebration of the game’s anniversary. The teaser can be seen in the video at the top of the article, titled “What’s Minecraft Up To?” with a very Augmented Reality focus prevalent throughout the clip.
While details haven’t been revealed yet, it would be awesome if players could build Minecraft-inspired worlds in the real world thanks to AR. With Minecraft being such a creative outlet for gamers, to bring that IRL would be incredible and would rival that of Pokemon GO without being an exact formulaic copy.
