This article covers how to scan and use triangle codes in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. As you make your way through the various levels and areas in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, you’re sure to come across at least a few strange looking collectible items. These items, dubbed Triangle Codes in the menu, are essentially bonus items that unlock exclusive content in the game. In order to use them, however, you’re going to have to do a little bit of transmedia work, which will require your smartphone to make happen. This guide will walk you through the entire process, start to finish.
Download the Application
Triangle Codes are littered throughout the world in Mankind Divided, and once you’ve stumbled across one, or happened across a few, you might be wondering what these strange items do. In order to find out, you’re going to have to download the Deus Ex Universe application, which is available on both iOS and Android. The application will also require you to sign up for a Square Enix account, which you most likely already have. If for some reason you don’t, you can click here to sign up.
Once you have the app downloaded, and your account set up, make sure you’re logged into your Square Enix account in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Otherwise you won’t be able to get your goodies. With your account set up in both places, open up your Database tab in-game and locate the Square Enix Members section near the bottom of the screen. Scan the Codes
You should notice slots for all 35 of the Triangle codes hidden through the game. Find and select one that you have located in game, and then open it up by clicking on it. This will display the image on your screen so that you can easily scan it. Now open up the Deus Ex Universe application and select the Scanner option in the top left-hand screen.
With the Scanner open, lineup the image on your screen with the markers in the application. It is very similar to scanning a QR code. First, make sure your device can easily line up with the screen. Then you need to make sure your room is well lit, with plenty of bright light around you. Otherwise you might have issues scanning the triangle code on your screen. It is possible that you will come across a few errors as you try to scan the various codes you find. Just stick with it, and eventually you should be able to scan them all and unlock the bonus content hidden behind them.
Now that you know how to scan these Triangle Codes, it’s time to start finding more of them. They are often hidden in hard to reach areas like vents, behind containers, and inside hidden sections of the game world. There are 35 codes in all, and you’ll need to use all of your wits to find and collect every item.
