First and foremost you want to select the Target Pokemon option and pay close to the paw prints that appear on your screen. Each paw print represents about 100 meters, so you can get an idea of how far away the Pokemon is located. As you’re walking around, if the number of paw prints goes down, you’re going in the right direction. If the paws increase then turn around, making a 180 so you’re walking in the opposite direction. It’s best if you use landmarks so you can easily note at what point the paw prints started going up or down.
When you get to a point where the paw prints aren’t going up or down (roughly in the middle of where you’ve been pacing), walk to the right or left. As you walk you should now notice the paw prints going up or down again. Once again, if they’re going down you’re moving in the right direction, and if they’re going up you should turn around and make another 180.
By this time there should only be one or two paw prints as you will be very close to the location of the Pokemon you’re after. Just keep walking in the direction that lows the number of paw prints and you’ll be there.
Now that you know how to track Pokemon in Pokemon Go, get out there and have fun!
