With so much choice, it’s easy to get overwhelmed, but keybinds can help you switch between your three current favorite weapons. Here’s how to switch weapons using those keybinds and how you can set up other new weapons to replace them in STALKER 2: Heart of Chronobyl.

How to Change Weapons in STALKER 2: Heart of Chronobyl

To change weapons, you’ll use the 1, 2, 3, and 4 buttons on your keyboard, kind of similar to most competitive FPS games when switching weapons. The keybind “1” is automatically set to your melee weapon, which is useful since you’ll use it to destroy debris and locks at times, while “2” is for your sidearm. Your main weapons are for keybinds 3 and 4.

Use 1, 2, 3, and 4 to freely swap through weapons without opening the radial wheel. If you want more swap options, you can also open the radial wheel by pressing the Tab button, and you’ll see all the weapons you can equip from your inventory. You can use the cursor or mouse to select anything from the wheel, and doing so should equip the selected item or weapon. As a quick note, you can also open up other tools like your flashlight or scanner from the radial wheel.

How to Set Keybinds/Fast Switch to Weapons

If you want to assign specific weapons to keybinds, press “I” to open up your inventory. Next to the inventory tab, you’ll see your equipment tab. You’ll see two main weapon slots and a sidearm slot in the tab.

The main weapon slot on the left is assigned to your keybind “3,” and the one on the right is for keybind “4.” You can have at least two weapons as your “main” weapons so you can easily switch to them.

The rest of the items will have to rely on the free equipment slots on the radial wheel. Now that we know how to set and use keybinds for weapons and better navigate those tough encounters, did you know you can increase your inventory space in Stalker 2 as well?
