STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl rarely holds your hand in the game, as it immediately sends you off to the fray without much of a tutorial. While it does tell you some of the basics, it doesn’t tell you how to use your flashlight. You’ll immediately see an objective tracker telling you where to go, but everything is almost pitch black. Adjusting the brightness doesn’t do anything, as it really is part of the game. Here’s a quick guide on how to turn on your flashlight in STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl.

How to Turn On Flashlight in STALKER 2 Heart of Chornobyl

Once you start playing the game, you’ll go through a short tutorial while being introduced to STALKER 2’s story. You’ll learn how to switch weapons, aim, shoot, crouch, destroy locks, and more. These all come as you go through the story and into the dark tunnels. However, it never teaches the player to turn the flashlight on. Everything will turn almost pitch black soon since it is a dark tunnel. You’ll really need a source of light.

To turn on your flashlight, you must open your radial menu, which was also taught in the tutorial. You’ll see a few binds on the lower left and right corners of the wheel. Each has a key, and you are looking for the default “E” bind, which is a flashlight equipped on your head.

Once you press Tab to open up the radial wheel and press “E,” it’ll remove the radial wheel, and you’ll turn on the flashlight. It is worth noting that pressing “E” without opening the radial menu will do something totally different. The natural “E” keybind is a shortcut for eating food or whatever is equipped in your quick inventory slots.

To turn off your light source or flashlight, you’ll have to do the same thing—radial wheel and press “E.” You’ll need to turn it off at certain times.

If you change your settings and want to back up your files, you should look for the save file location on your PC just in case you want to reinstall or switch devices.
