Phasmophobia brings an exciting Blood Moon event as players flock back to the smash horror hit game in the spirit of Halloween. The Blood Moon events bring numerous challenges, including community-driven goals to unlock awesome and exclusive rewards like a Blood Moon ID or the limited-time-only Blood Moon Weather setting in Phasmophobia. Once you unlock the Blood Moon Weather, players can start playing games with the Blood Moon Weather, giving players the opportunity to experience all the changes during the Halloween event at any time. Here’s how to unlock the Blood Moon Weather in Phasmophobia.
How to Get the Blood Moon Weather Setting in Phasmophobia
The Blood Moon or Crimson Eye event starts on October 28, 2024, and ends on November 13, 2024. Players will start to see numerous changes, such as Phasmophobia’s lobby having the Blood Moon theme and more. There are several unlockable rewards, and you can see all of them on the event board.
To check the events board, go to the van entrance in the main lobby and look for a board on the left side of the entrance. This is where you’ll see multiple challenges and events, including the Blood Moon event.
The Blood Moon event challenge has three stages:
- Stage 1 – Blood Moon ID Card reward
- Stage 2 – Upgraded ID Card reward
- Stage 3 – Blood Moon Trophy with the Blood Moon Weather post-event
These challenges are community-driven goals where players must complete the following tasks to contribute to the progress of the event:
- Identify ghosts correctly
- Complete optional objectives
- Photograph Blood Totems
All of these requirements will only be credited to the event if done in these locations:
- Point Hope
- 42 Edgefield Road
- 13 Willow Street
- Grafton Farmhouse
These locations are all considered “small” locations and are the easiest locations to finish. All you have to do is keep playing the game through the event, remember to finish your optional objectives, and photograph Blood Totems, which should be your natural objective when playing a game.

Where to Find Blood Moon Totems in Phasmophobia’s Blood Moon Event
Blood Moon Totems show up randomly in the four maps mentioned above. These Blood Moon Totems are quite big and glow like a Blood Moon, so they are very easy to spot. Not only that, they are only located on small maps, which makes them even easier to spot because there are only a few places to check.
Blood Moon Totems spawn at random on any of the maps above, and you could possibly see three or more in one game. For example, in one game on Edgefield, there were Blood Moon Totems in the living room, on the window pane near the dining room, on the dining room table, and on top of the boy’s bedroom. On the same map, you can see the Blood Moon Totem in the girl’s bedroom, in the restroom, and in the garage.
In a way, you can see them everywhere. You just have to check every corner of the map and bring a camera with you to photograph every Blood Moon Totem you come across. The best way to contribute to the Blood Moon event is to just play the game and always bring a camera!
Is Phasmophobia’s Blood Moon Halloween Event Available on Consoles?
Phasmophobia is also launching its early access to consoles on October 29, 2024, at 6 pm UTC. While the console versions are still new, they will also take part in the Blood Moon event alongside PC players on release. They will have the same Blood Moon event as PC players, and both platforms can also enable crossplay to play with each other during the event.
The Blood Moon event will also last until November 13, 2024, for consoles. Players should just hope that Phasmophobia’s console edition doesn’t have many bugs when it goes on early access.
