The Iron Rig is the second expansion for Dredge, the fishing adventure from Black Salt Games, and Team17. As usual, the new expansion adds a new questline surrounding the oiling rig structure, multiple NPCs to interact with, and achievements to unlock. Here is how you can unlock the Shadowed Splashes achievement in Dredge The Iron Rig.

Shadowed Splashes Achievement in Dredge The Iron Rig

To earn the Shadowed Splashes achievement in Dredge The Iron Rig, you need to have five Dark Splashes in your inventory at a time.

There are multiple ways to get Dark Splashes, which are only found at oil despots across the map. Here are the three ways you can get these sorted in order of difficulty:

  • The easiest way to get Dark Splashes is by failing the fishing mini-game when you’re fishing for something in an oil deposit. Each time you make a mistake, a Dark Splash will be added to your inventory. Do this five times, and you’ll have the five splashes required for the achievement.
  • You can also get Dark Splashes by driving right into one of the bubbles in the oil deposit.
  • Finally, one-eyed monsters also appear in the oil deposits. Let one of them jump into the boat, and you’ll get a Dark Splash as well.

No matter how you obtain the Dark Splashes, as long as you have five in the inventory, the achievement will pop up.

Considering how many times players will have to visit the oil deposits, the achievement will likely unlock on its own. Some of the other achievements, like The Gleaming Goliath, require multiple steps to obtain. There are 12 new achievements added in The Iron Rig expansion, and most of them are still fairly rare, at least on Steam.
