Forza Motorsport 5: The 10 Best Cars

Get behind the wheels of these beauties – you won't regret it.

When you first pick up Forza Motorsport 5 for Xbox One, the question isn’t how soon you’ll drive, but rather – where will you start? The game features over 200 vehicles to choose from, and there’s something for everyone, from those who prefer an affordable vehicle to higher-end cars they’ll probably never touch in real life.

Not to worry. We drove these vehicles and came up with the best. NOTE: these may not be for everyone, as you may prefer a speedier ride.

10.) 2009 Jeep Cherokee SRT8

There’s something about having a Jeep in a driving game that’s cool – the off-road traction that comes with it or the general ability to ride in style. This one may be a little lower on the list, but fans of real-life Jeep vehicles will definitely give it a spin.

9.) 1965 Mini Cooper S

While smaller may not necessarily be better for some people, the Mini Cooper gives the player an exquisite ride. Plus, it’s slick and speedy, and may be just the thing you need to make a clean getaway from the rest of the pack.

8.) 1964 Aston Martin DB5

Don’t you ever feel like driving around like James Bond? Climb behind the wheel of this bad boy and you’ll get your chance. It may not have machine gun headlights like the car in the film, but the Aston Martin has smooth handling and a slick body build that’ll stand out in any race.

7.) 1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am

We always wanted to live out Smokey and the Bandit, even if that doesn’t provide us the benefit of kissing a young Sally Field. Regardless, this sweet little number gets some good acceleration, and can turn on a dime if you know how to shift. Now we just need a cowboy hat.

6.) 1984 Ferrari GTO

Here’s another one that takes us back to the old-school. The GTO is a sweet little ride, and a car that helped define the Ferrari in the first place. With moderately good handling and a body that’ll stand out in any race, the GTO should find a spot in your garage.

5.) 2010 Maserati Gran Turismo S

Sure, it may have the term Gran Turismo in it – which is quite similar to a Sony racing brand – but come on, if you don’t want to give a Maserati a spin, something’s wrong with you. Packing a fierce engine, a high acceleration rate and a smooth build that just won’t quit, this one’s worth going down the road with.

4.) 2013 McLaren P1

Featured in some of the early trailers for Forza Motorsport 5, the 2013 McLaren P1 is a thing of beauty. With 50 years of builders’ experience behind it, a sleek design that stands out on any given road, performance tires, flip-open doors and a fast pace that would even wake up coma victims, the McLaren is a dream come true.

3.) 2012 Ferrari F12berlinetta

We put two Ferraris on this list. One’s more for classic tastes, and the F12berlinetta is all about modern style. Featuring a well-balanced torque calculated for smooth performance, a 0-60 acceleration rate in a matter of three seconds and a top speed of over 200 miles per hour, this is a speed demon you’ll want to buy.

2.) 2012 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4

Here’s another model that we could gaze upon for hours, if only to drool on the hood. Brandishing a ridiculous 700 bhp and 500 pounds of torque, this thing runs like a powerhouse down any given race track. It also has the kind of precision handling you can take into turns. Yes, please.

1.) 2012 Pagani Huayra

Finally, we have another show model that was initially featured in early game demos for Forza 5 – and for good reason. This monstrous machine has an incredible build inside and out, all due to fine Swiss craftsmanship. It’s also the first Pagani model to make it out the door in nine years, showing the care and finesse the company puts behind its cars. Step in and take a ride.
