If you play a lot of survival-crafting games, such as Enshrouded, you’ll wind up learning which gatherable resources to focus on finding and which to ignore. In most of these titles, reeds play an integral role, as they’re necessary for crafting and construction. Here is how to get reeds in Pax Dei!

Where to Get Reeds in Pax Dei

Typically, reeds in Pax Dei spawn around rivers and bodies of water, like the small lakes that dot the landscape of your homeland. However, it’s not uncommon to find them growing in a field, near a small batch of rocks, for instance. As such, we recommend keeping an eye on your immediate surroundings, as you never know when reeds will sprout up!

Each time you discover reeds, prepare your inventory because you’ll quickly fill a slot. It’s uncommon to find one or two reeds. When they spawn, they do so in large groups. For example, I harvested a single patch on my latest character and wound up walking away with 30 reeds in my inventory. It’s enough for a fair few crafting/construction recipes!

Why You Need Reeds in Pax Dei

When you first discover reeds in Pax Dei, you’ll automatically unlock a few crafting recipes: Wicker Basket and Round Wicker Basket. They’re useful tools to keep around your homestead.

However, more importantly, you’ll use reeds to craft a number of items and structures in the game, such as:

  • Hut Doorways
  • Shingled Roof
  • Hut Walls
  • Hut Stairs
  • Simple Tanning Rack
  • Basic Fletching Tools

The workbench and tools prove especially useful but don’t ignore the construction pieces, either. If you’d prefer not to live in squalor, with nothing but a campfire in the rain, then you’ll want to track down reeds and start building a small shack in the woods. Of course, you’ll need many other resources in the game first!
