No Rest for the Wicked is a new ARPG from Moon Studios, the makers of the Ori and the Blind Forest series. Saving and quitting your game is different than the studio’s previous entries, so here is how to save and exit your game in No Rest for the Wicked.
How to Save Your Game in No Rest for the Wicked
No Rest for the Wicked players can save their game by visiting any of the Cerim Whispers located throughout the world. These are marked by a glowing blue light with strands of light that will reach out to the player once nearby.
Cerim Whispers are placed in relatively safe areas, and interacting with one will save your progress thus far. The only purpose of these structures is a place to respawn when you die and to act as a fast travel point from Sacrament, similar to the bonfires in Dark Souls.
However, the Cerim Whispers do not heal your character or cause enemies to respawn. Players will have to find campfires out in the environment to cook foods that will heal them better, and interacting with a Cerim Whisper will not cause enemies to magically respawn either.
How to Quit Your Game in No Rest for the Wicked
No Rest for the Wicked players can quit their game by first pressing Tab on keyboard or Start/Options on controller. This will bring up the quick menu instead of the fullscreen menu.
The icon at the right end of the menu bar is a door with an arrow on it with the phrase Exit to Menu, and selecting it will take players back to the main menu. Then players can close out the game completely with Quit Game. There is currently no option to quit directly to the desktop from the game itself, but it is in early access and could eventually be added.
