The PS4 and PS5 version of EA FC 24 is very different in many ways. From basic gameplay to core features, there are several benefits for you to play on the current-gen device, which are completely absent on the old-gen version. To make it more convenient, EA Sports even allows you to upgrade from the PS4 version to PS5 at no additional cost (pending certain conditions).

Can You Upgrade EA FC 24 from PS4 to PS5 Version?

Not only is the upgrade possible, but it can be done for free. By doing so, you lose absolutely no progress at all (except if any of the saves are stored locally without it being available on cloud). As for online modes like Ultimate Team, there are no fears of loss of any progression. You can pick it up on your PS5 right from where you left on your PS4.

How to Upgrade your EA FC 24 from PS4 to PS5?

The free upgrade is possible as both the Standard Edition and Ultimate Edition of EA FC 24 come with dual-entitlement on PlayStation. In simpler words, if you own one version of the game (say PS4), you automatically own the other one as well.

  • Start your game (assuming it’s the PS4 version).
  • Go to the PSN store from your console (you can do the same from your browser, but I did it directly from my PS5 console)
  • Go to the PSN store and select the next-gen version, and it will automatically start the download.

Is it Worth Upgrading your EA FC 24 from the PS4 to PS5 Version?

The current-gen version is better in many ways due to the presence of additional features like HyperMotion V, for example. This results in drastically different gameplay across all game modes. Certain items like the game’s database are the same, so national teams and squads are identical.

The presence of the extra gameplay elements makes the matches more dynamic and engaging.
