If you want to ensure your Chocobo’s is always flexing those fine feathers with the most fabulous fashions, you’ll need Sylkis Greens, which you can trade to Esther. And one way to get a Sylkis Green is to determine who’s telling the truth in the Swindler’s Seminar.

Speak to the Conniving Caglio, and he’ll give you the rundown. One of his five pupils is telling the truth. You’ll need to listen to what they say and then investigate locations in the Dustbowl marked on the map Caglio gives you to determine which is lying and which is not. Each guess will cost you 500 gil. The five statements you’ll get are:

  • Pupil #1 – The Bail Jumper house specialty is “Sunshine” and will be like nothing you’ve ever tasted. The bars around here serve drinks so watered down that you can drink for hours on end and still not feel it.
  • Pupil #2 – The weapon store owner sells potions.
  • Pupil #3 – The bookstore doesn’t have Gus’s autobiography Meditations on Outlaw Life in stock.
  • Pupil #4 – Gus’s house is covered in graffiti, including the Costa del Sol Cactuar.
  • Pupil #5 – The Beast Battleground has a Type-0 Monster.

So, who’s telling the truth? Pupil #1, Thirsty Usain. And to prove it, you can walk into the bar and have a glass beside the bartender to be told as much. But even if you guess correctly, you’ll lose your 500 gil. The upside is you’ll get a bundle of Sylkis greens, which you can now turn over to Esther for a new piece of Chocobo equipment that can only be found here.

And it’s a good idea to unlock as many of the outfits as possible for Piko. Each piece of gear you’ve unlocked can give Piko a special ability when ridden, from an extra dash to increased speed.
