All Bygone Settlement Artifacts in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth – Exact Locations

Once you’ve unlocked the Lifespring south of the Abandoned Dock, Chadley will let you know that he’s found the location of a Transmuter Chip in the Bygone Settlement. You passed by these old ruins while trying to get to the Abandoned Dock, but it’s only with the help of your Chocobo that you can find the treasures they hide.

Approach the buildings, and you’ll be notified that three artifacts are hidden amongst the rubble. And to find these artifacts, you’ll need to use your Chocobo’s ‘Scent’ ability. To do this, press and hold the Up button on your D-Pad once the blue question mark appears above your Chocobo’s head. You can then use the right joystick to pivot your Chocobo and find the direction of the artifact.

Once you’re facing the direction of the artifact, a blue line will extend from your Chocobo to the artifact’s location. You can then press the down button to have your Chocobo dig it up.

Each time you successfully scour, you’ll get a new transmuter chip. Those transmuter chips are:

  • Cushion – Allows you to use broken-down rest stops.
  • Enhanced Copper Bracer – A souped-up version of the original Copper Bracer.
  • Woodsprite Armlet – An intricately carved armlet blessed by the spirits of the forest.
  • Windmill Gear – A key component of the windmills erected by the Republic of Junon.

Once you’ve found all three, Chadley will call you and tell you that it’s a rare chip. But it doesn’t really provide you with much use. Perhaps there’s someone else who could benefit from it? But before you can bring it to them, you’ll need a Quetzacoatl Talon so you can actually craft the gear.
