Where to Find More Twilight Fragments in Persona 3 Reload

Twilight Fragments can be obtained in various ways in the game, but they’re scarce. While gathering a bunch of them could take a whole month, a single night in Tartarus might be enough to use all of these.

Twilight Fragments from Social Links

Leveling up your Social Links will give you some Twilight Fragments upon speaking with Elizabeth, either in Paulownia Mall or at the Tartarus’ entrance. Each level you get gives you one Twilight Fragment. There are 21 Social Links in P3R, and each Social Link has 10 levels, meaning there are 210 Twilight Fragments you can collect from Elizabeth by maxing out your Social Links. So make sure to hang out with your friends while not exploring Tartarus.

Twilight Fragments will accumulate and not be lost if you forget to claim them. If you haven’t spoken with Elizabeth for a week but have leveled several SLs, talking with her later will give you lots of Twilight Fragments at once. She’ll also hand them to you automatically upon entering the Velvet Room.

Rewarded from Requests

Elizabeth can also reward you with some Twilight Fragments by completing some of her Requests. Fusing 20 Personas is one of the earliest requests with such rewards. You need to claim the Twilight Fragments from the Request section instead of merely talking with her to get those.

Eight Elizabeth requests will reward you with Twilight Fragments of varying amounts:

  • No.11 – Please prevail in the Big Eater Challenge: 3 Twilight Fragments.
  • No.19 – I want Jack Frost Dolls: 3 Twilight Fragments.
  • No.23 – Persona Fusion Milestone: 5 Twilight Fragments.
  • No.33 – Persona Fusion Milestone #2: 5 Twilight Fragments.
  • No.40 – I’d like to see a pair of Max Safety Shoes: 3 Twilight Fragments.
  • No.48 – Persona Fusion #3: 5 Twilight Fragments.
  • No.57 – I’d like to try Aojiru: 8 Twilight Fragments.
  • No.75 – Bring me a Sengoku-era helm: 7 Twilight Fragments.

Finding Twilight Fragments Around the Map

Twilight Fragments are also scattered around the overworld map. They’re represented by a shiny blue glow on the ground. These are one-time-only and won’t respawn, so don’t bother waiting for them to return once you grab them.

As far as we know, there are roughly 17 Twilight Fragments to pick up around the overworld:

  • Gekkoukan High: Beside a lampost on the entry pathway outside the school.
  • Gekkoukan High (1F): Between the two statues across the main entrance.
  • Gekkoukan High (1F): Outside the Printing Room.
  • Gekkoukan High (Gym Hallway): In front of the lockers.
  • Gekkoukan High (Corridor): On the bench beside the persimmon tree.
  • Gekkoukan High (2F): In the sink by the Classroom Hallway toilets.
  • Gekkoukan High (Rooftop): On one of the stone benches around a large planter.
  • Student Dormitory (4F): Beside the lamp next to the stairs leading to the roof.
  • Student Dormitory (Rooftop): On the ground, top left corner past the gardening boxes.
  • Paulownia Mall: In front of the fountain.
  • Paulownia Mall (Club Escapade): On the dancefloor in front of the stage.
  • Iwatodai Strip Mall (3F): Outside the entrance to Umiushi Beef Bowl.
  • Iwatodai Station: In front of the traffic cone beside the safety rails in the middle of the station.
  • Naganaki Shrine: In front of the lampost on the playground.
  • Naganaki Shrine: Under the sign beside the Sacred Tree.
  • Port Island Station: On the bench in front of the fountain near the theater.
  • Port Island Station (Station Outskirts): Beside the black trash bags in front of the trash cans.

During certain Full Moon Operations in which you visit one-time-only areas in the city, some more Fragments might be lying around, so keep your eyes peeled for those.

Farming in Tartarus

Finally, Tartarus also has a chance to get you some Twilight Fragments from the crystallized Shadow breakable items you find around the floors. They’re a very rare spawn and glow blue when you find them, so it’s hard to miss them.

Tartarus’s Twilight Fragments are theoretically infinite as the breakable items respawn once you come back to the floor, but they’re so rare that it’s usually not worth your time trying to farm for these. Tartarus’s floors are also randomized, changing between each visit, so the locations of crystallized Shadows will never be the same.

Rescuing Cats

On 6/18, Elizabeth will call you to the Velvet Room to inform you about missing people who wandered into Tartarus. She’ll tell you their whereabouts and encourage you to find them. Sometimes, she’ll also mention cats that have gotten lost in Tartarus too. Locate and rescue these cats, and they’ll hand over a few Twilight Fragments for your trouble. Note that, like missing people, you’ll need to locate them before the next Full Moon, or they’ll become lost forever.

What Are Twilight Fragments in Persona 3 Reload?

Twilight Fragments can be used to execute certain actions within Tartarus, such as opening special Treasure Chests that often contain rare loot or healing your full party’s HP and SP through the use of clocks. They can improve your exploration but are still limited, so use them wisely.

Each clock you find in Tartarus, including the entryway clock on the main floor, costs seven Twilight Fragments to use. It’s expensive and racks up fast if you depend on them to keep you in the game. Therefore, we highly recommend conserving your Twilight Fragments on locked chests, which can reward you with new outfits, armor, and weapons. Clocks should be rarely necessary, and you shouldn’t hesitate to use healing items instead, which you’ll pick up a plethora of during your time both inside Tartarus and outside of it.

But by the end of the game, you should know how to effectively use Twilight Fragments to your advantage and not waste a huge amount with unnecessary healings. In any case, the Rewind button is always here to save you.
