For the first time since its release, Honkai: Star Rail will be giving out a 5-star character completely for free. Dr. Ratio is being distributed to all players as a reward for the numerous prizes the game received last year, so don’t miss out on him.

How to Claim Your Free Dr. Ratio in Honkai: Star Rail

Dr. Ratio can be claimed through your in-game email after you complete the Trailblaze Mission A Moment of Peace. This is one of the game’s very first tutorial missions where you play with Himeko on your team. In other words, all you need to do is play the game for more than a few minutes to get Ratio on your team.

Players can claim him from the moment his banner (Panta Rhei) drops on January 17 until the end of the 2.1 version. This gives them more than 100 days to log into the game and get him. New accounts created during this period are also eligible to claim him, so everyone can get him for free.

His Banner will be released at the same time as he’s distributed, so players are free to go for Eidolons or for his signature Light Cone, which are both huge upgrades for the base character. And despite being given out for free, he’s still a Limited character, so expect him to be above most standard 5-stars when it comes to raw damage.

Ratio should still be around in future rerun banners, but it will probably not be happening anytime soon as he’ll be around for basically three different versions. As of now, he’s also one of the few Imaginary characters in the game, so there’s a lot of value in building him. And you should probably do it, especially if you enjoy the satisfaction of throwing chalk at your opponents.
