How To Get Rare or Better Weapons at a Hotspot in Fortnite

You’ll first need to identify if the spot you’re dropping in is a Hotspot, which is indicated by the gold letters as opposed to white. Once you have verified that, jump off of the Battle Bus and get ready to land on the ground. Start searching for any weapon you can get your hands on right away, so you can at least defend yourself from oncoming enemies with the same goal.

As you examine different Loots around the area, keep your eyes peeled for the color of the weapon. Try to find anything that is Blue, Purple, or Orange, as they will add to your overall collection. You will also want to find these weapons first, as picking them up after a player has dropped them may not add to your total needed to complete this weekly quest.

You can also search Loot Chests, which can drop Rare, or sometimes even Mythic items such as Ballistic Shields. It’s hard to know what you may find inside, as Loot Chests are completely randomized. Anything that you find on the ground that isn’t a shield will count toward your overall number of items found, so don’t be afraid to get a little greedy.

Once you complete this quest, you’ll get 15K XP and another tick added toward the exclusive skin and items that can only be unlocked through Weekly Challenges. While you may not be able to use Negative Oscar while making Marble Slabs in LEGO Fortnite, he’s a great skin to use while you’re in Battle Royale.
