“Cowabunga says it all!”
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, who have enjoyed a resurgence as of late thanks to Nickelodeon’s awesome Saturday morning CG-animated cartoon series, are about to return to gaming.
Activision has announced that they have reached a deal with the children’s programming network, and its partners at Viacom, to produce a series of new games featuring the quartet of crime fighters. It’ll be a lucrative “worldwide, multi-year deal” across a number of platforms, with games inspired by the series.
“The fans of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are unique in that they span generations and are very passionate,” said Activision VP Kurt Niederlot. “We respect this passion and look forward to working with Nickelodeon to create games that embody the spirit of the property.”
Here’s hoping that rumor that Rocksteady Games – the creators of the Batman games for WB – are on board for at least one of those. For that matter, Activision, have you considered teaming up with Konami to give us a decent arcade port of TMNT: Turtles In Time for PSN and XBLA? It’d be pretty ideal.
Look for more news on the Ninja Turtle front over the next few months, dudes!
