Pokemon Indigo Disk Snivy Featured

After grinding BP for a few hours, players in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet: The Indigo Disk can unlock all older starters to catch on the field. Snivy, the grass starter from Gen V, is no exception to this, and here’s where you can find it.

Snivy can be found in the Savanna Biome after you complete the “Boost biodiversity in the Savanna Biome” donation through the Support Board in the League Club Room. You’ll need to gather at least 3000 BP by completing BBQs around Blueberry Academy. This could take good a while especially if you’re grinding alone, so get ready for the grinding.

Once you do, Snivy and many other states will be available for catching around the Biome. Snivy wanders around grassy terrains and usually walks alone, but it might also be around more of its kind. I’ve found one in a group of Rufflet once, so they might also appear randomly alongside other species.

If you have trouble spawning one, using an Encounter Power: Grass Lv. 2 or higher sandwich will probably do the trick and you should find one within seconds after your meal. A good, Herba-less recipe for that is the Great Klawf Claw Sandwich: Lettuce, Tomato, Klawf Stick, Wasabi, Salt and Olive Oil.

Tip:

If you eat this sandwich, your chances of finding Rowlet will also increase drastically. Don’t miss the chance to catch it if you don’t have it yet!

Snivy is pretty easy to catch if you bring a few Ultra Balls. Your main trouble will be to avoid knocking it out, which can be solved by using Grass-type moves against it to slowly chip away its health. You can also try the old Quick Ball at Turn 1 trick, which often works for most species.

If you still have some trouble, bring a Pokemon with False Swipe and use some status-inflicting moves like Hypnosis or Thunder Wave. Spore won’t work as Snivy is also a Grass-type. But you shouldn’t have much trouble with the catching as finding it is usually the hardest part.

There are many other starters you can find lying around the four biomes in the Terarium, and getting them is necessary for filling your Pokedex. And there are lots of starters, so get ready to catch’em all.
