Everything to Know About Honkai: Star Rail’s 1.6 Special Program, Crown of the Mundane and the Divine

We’re getting some extra story updates, new characters and much more in this final update, so get ready for the many new updates.

Star Rail Character Warp Banners

The first banner will be dedicated to Ruan Mei, number 81 of the Genius Society. She acts as a 5-star Ice Harmony character, boosting her allies with a good emphasis on Break Effect. She’s the first character to be available in the Limited Banners, and as the first Limited 5-star Harmony, she’s bound to be as strong as Bronya, a staple in many teams. Blade is also making its first comeback alongside her, so this is your chance to grab the 5-star Wind Destruction swordsman if you missed him at first.

For the second half, we have Dr.Ratio as our new 5-star Imaginary Hunt character. A single-target follow-up-focused DPS with the currently rarest element in the game is already something to be interested in, especially when his Light Cone is that interesting. Alongside him, Kafka is also making her triumphant return, so take this chance to get her or her Light Cone too.

The first banner also features the debut of Xueyi, the new 4-star Quantum Destruction character. Hanya’s older sister serves as a powerful lower-cost AoE damage dealer that deals attacks with her many chains, and will be a nice addition to the account alongside Ruan Mei if you plan on rolling for her.

New Permanent Content and Game Modes

The new Trailblaze Mission “Crown of the Mundane and Divine” will take us to a new area in Herta’s Space Station, where we’ll also get to meet Ruan Mei and see some of the experiments in the area. This will also unlock the new Echoes of War boss Starcrusher Swarm King: Skaracabaz. Its materials will probably be used for new characters from here on out, so be ready to farm for them!

The Simulated Universe is once again being expanded with the Simulated Universe: Gold and Gears event. Similar to Swarm Disaster, this is a permanent alternative game mode for the universe that changes the basic rules while also presenting a huge challenge. And possibly a seemly infinite number of Stellar Jades to farm.

But more importantly, we’re getting another endgame content in the form of Pure Fiction, a new game mode that alternates with Memory of Chaos as the “stages” weekly mode. The goal is to defeat as many enemies as possible to get more points, so AoE-focused characters are ready to shine here.

Lots of QoL were also implemented to both Memory of Chaos and this new mode, as well as the introduction of rooms 11 and 12. Now each cycle lasts six weeks, but a new cycle of either MoC or Pure Fiction will start every 2 weeks as usual (alternating between each other). Completing Pure Fiction up to the 2nd stage grants you a free copy of Lynx.

All Star Rail 1.6 Events Listed

While the new content is already exciting, there’s still a lot going on in the game. Here are some of the new events we’ll be seeing during this update.

Gift of Odyssey

We get our usual 10 pulls, as always. It’s almost no surprise that they keep doing this event every single patch, and it would be strange if they decided to stop with it completely.

Critter Pick

Take care of these new, cute, and small creatures as you nurture them so they can mature safely. Also, we’ll play as Peppy for some reason at certain points. You might wanna get used to that because it might be a new mini-game in the Simulated Universe.

Simulated Universe: Gold and Gears

Speaking of which, the release of this new game mode is also an event by itself, but just like the Swarm Disaster, this will be a permanent addition. No need to rush it, as it could take you a good while to 100% it.

Virtual Scentventure

By combining certain special “scents”, Trailblazers will face older enemies with new colors, boasting new tricks in their sleeves and sometimes paired with each other. Get ready to face Cocolia and Gepard at the same time!

Planar Fissure

The usual Relic-farming event we get at the end of a version will be making a comeback, so don’t miss it. This might be just a simple small change to your usual farming routine, so no big deals here.

Star Rail 1.6 Special Codes

As always, we have the version codes with a limited redeeming time. Use them before it’s too late!

Free Dr. Ratio Special Gift

Yeah, you read that correctly! Hoyoverse is giving us a free Dr. Ratio in celebration of The Game Awards! All players can redeem Ratio through their emails from version 1.6 until 2.1. While this will definitely hurt his sales, his Light Cone is still a very powerful tool and everyone now has a reason to consider going for it. This was a very unexpected but very welcoming surprise during the stream.

Penacony Sneak Peek

For the last moments, we got another shot at Penacony just like we did during The Game Awards trailers. We were presented with various characters like Sunday, his sister Robin, the already-revealed Sparkle, and even Sam from the Stellaron Hunters. All of these might make an appearance during the new storyline, so let’s wait and see.

For a cycle-ending patch, this is a very packed update with tons of new content we would expect from a 2.0 version, and that gets me even more hyped for when the actual 2.0 drops. Ratio wanters can even save a few extra Jades now, so they might be ready for the upcoming banners in the future.
