Given the true complexity of builds in Rogue Trader, you’re likely going to want to respec your build at some point. Here’s how to respec your characters in Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader.
How to Reset Your Character’s Skill Points in Rogue Trader
If you want to respec your characters, you’ll first want to pass the prologue and get to the point where you can openly explore your voidship. Otherwise, you’ll just need to make sure you’re back at your voidship with your crew. Once you’re there, make your way near the main map table and speak with High Factotum Janris Danrok, who can be found at a terminal nearby. Speak with him, and select the option “My retinue and I are in need of training.”
Once you go through the dialogue, you’ll be given a full screen of all companions you currently have available to you. Simply select whichever companion you want to respec, then select Accept. This will cost no Profit Factor at first but will increase in cost the more you respec. Once you’ve respec’d, you’ll be free to spend points as you’d like.
What Does Respeccing a Character Reset?
Respeccing a character will reset any points that you spent on them, setting them back to level one and requiring you to spend the points again. This won’t reset things like Homeworld, base Archetype, and other things you chose when first creating the character. You can, however, change the sub Archetype if you so wish. For example, you could swap from Assassin to Bounty Hunter through spending points, but can’t change from being an Operative. Once you’re locked into that starting Archetype, you’re stuck with it unless you make a new character.
