Quartz is a new shiny material introduced in the A Rift in Time expansion in Disney Dreamlight Valley. While it doesn’t have many uses yet, what it’s used for is very precise. A certain character seems to need plenty of it, so read on to learn where to find Quartz in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Where To Find Quartz in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Quartz can be obtained by mining, just like Copper or Gold. To get Quartz, you’ll have to mine the black rocks at the Ancient Landing biome, more specifically at The Docks, The Courtyard, The Overlook, and The Ruins areas.
Remember that to mine you need to have a pickaxe equipped, and with it, you hit a deposit up to five times. You might get Quartz in any of your hits, or all of them. Other materials like Copper, Coal, and other gems.
Quartz can only be obtained within the Eternity Island, so don’t be surprised if you mine black boulders on Dreamlight Valley and it doesn’t drop. You can also disregard the orange rocks, as they will give you all Copper and no Quartz.
What is Quartz Used For?
For now, there’s only a handful of recipes that list Quartz as an ingredient, and of course, they’re all Eternity Island exclusive. These recipes known for now are Short Ancient Pillar, Tall Ancient Pillar, Crumbling Landing Wall, and Ancient’s Landing Wall. They’re not many yet, but some of them are certainly pretty.
The main thing you would want Quartz for, though, is to help Scrooge McDuck rebuild his store on Eternity Island (he’s branching out!). He’ll ask for 15 pieces of Quartz, along with 25 pieces of Copper and 24 Pearls, too, so you’ve got quite a little mining and digging to do. After this, you can open Scrooge’s shop along with him.
If you aim to become as rich as Scrooge McDuck by selling Quartz, you’ll have to sell thousands of them, because they’re worth a very modest amount when sold: just 20 coins.
