Orin may be a traitorous, shapeshifting wretch, hellbent on seeing the world run red with blood. But she’s also a woman of immaculate style. It’s only natural that you’d want her flesh-suit for you and your companions.

And getting Orin’s Outfit (the Mutilated Carapace) is actually very easy. To get Orin’s Outfit, you just need to kill her.

Spoilers ahead!

When you reach Act 3, you’ll encounter Orin. Orin is the chosen of Bhaal, the God of Murder, and she is one of the holders of the Netherstones. To defeat the Absolute once and for all, you’ll need Orin’s Netherstone.

Thus, Orin is one of those unavoidable fights in the main campaign, and you’ll find her waiting for you in Bhaal’s Temple beneath Lower City. You can access Bhaal’s Temple by entering the sewers, which are scattered around Lower City, or by going through the Guildhall.

How to Defeat Orin the Red in Baldur’s Gate 3

Orin is a formidable opponent with the trait “Unstoppable”, which reduces the next attack taken by Orin to 1 and consumes one charge of Unstoppable. She has seven charges of Unstoppable total, which means she’ll be able to take seven attacks and only endure one damage from each. This can make her initially quite tanky.

You can stop her Unstoppable charges from refreshing by killing the Cultists surrounding her, who can only be damaged by area-of-effect spells like Ice Storm or Fireball.

The best way to trivialize this fight is to burn through Orin’s Unstoppable charges with moves like Magic Missile and then burst her down.

Once Orin is dead, she’ll drop her outfit (the Mutilated Carapace), the Crimson Mischief, and Bloodthirst.

Orin’s Outfit, the Mutilated Carapace, has the following stats:

  • Formless Slaughter: You gain +1 to Attack and Damage rolls while shapeshifting or disguised.
  • Faceless Masquerade: You have Advantage on Deception Checks and Persuasion Checks.
  • Armor Class +1.
