How to Break a Tackle in Madden 24 When Ball Carrying

To break a tackle in Madden NFL 24, you can use one of three moves. You can use a spin move, a trucking move, or a stiff arm.

To perform each of the abovementioned, you must press:

  • Spin Move: Circle Button
  • Trucking: L3 + R3 Together
  • Stiff Arm: X Button

In order for any of these moves to work correctly, your timing must be perfect. A second too late and you will get tackled and taken down. If you are too early, the opposing player will spot the skill move and anticipate what’s coming.

The best explanation for timing is to wait until the last moment, just before the opposing back makes their move to tackle you. Right then, press one of the three buttons mentioned to break the tackle.

What Skill Move Works The Best To Break Tackles in Madden NFL 24?

The skill move that works best to break tackles in Madden 24 is a spin move. For some reason, it’s the only move that gets recognized as breaking the tackle all the time.

Despite all of the skill moves working well at any time and theoretically breaking a challenge, they sometimes do not register as breaking the tackle like the spin move.

The juke move is the only skill move missing from the list. This is due to the fact that when using a juke move to break a tackle, I never received any stars for my efforts in any Madden Ultimate Team challenge.

Thankfully, this only applies when doing challenges and completing objectives. When playing in a match, you can use any of the skill moves to break tackles. Running the ball and executing skill moves perfectly is the difference between no yards gained and a touchdown scored following a strong drive.

If you want your running game and ball carrying to improve, using the stick and skill moves to break tackles in Madden NFL 24 is crucial to your improvement. For more on Madden NFL 24, you can read: When is the Best Time to Sprint on Plays.
