How to Pet Hellhounds in MW3 Zombies

Good hell spawn.

While a team of up to six players can tackle the Zombies mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, adding another in the form of Hellhounds is always good. These burning dogs can attack other enemies, and players can pet them for doing a good job.

Players who have spawned a Hellhound can actually pet the dog by holding the Interact button while standing near it. The character will pet the dog, and the player will receive the You Can Pet The Dog achievement for petting it the first time.

Since the dog is prone to attack any zombies or other enemies it sees, it is best to get to an area where there are no threats. The dog will then stay calm enough that you can easily pet them. Other players in the squad can also pet the dog, regardless of who owns it.

How to Get Hellhounds in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies

Hellhounds can be earned in the Zombies mode by depositing at least one Chunk of Flesh into one of the various Doghouses on the map. This is not a difficult task but it can take a little luck to get one early.

Doghouses are placed randomly around the map each game and can only be seen on the mini-map and overworld map when traveling near one. Take note of them if you do not have a Chunk of Flesh yet.

The Chunk of Flesh is a blue Rare item that drops from dead Zombies. An excellent method to ensure it drops is to blow them up with explosives. Once received, travel to the Doghouse and deposit the item to spawn a Hellhound.
