With a modest but important appearance in the 1.4 version, Guinaifen is a 4-star character in Honkai: Star Rail who specializes in inflicting Burn on her targets. The in-game streamer girl can be a powerful piece in any DoT-based team if you give her some investment, so here’s all Ascension and Trace Materials you need to gather to fully ascend her.
All Required Materials for Guinaifen in Honkai: Star Rail
Thanks to her playstyle, the 4-star Nihility Fire Guinaifen wants to be as high-leveled and trace-enhanced as possible, so you might just do that. Four-stars also require fewer items than 5-stars to fully level up, so that’s another incentive.

Her main ascension material comes from the Shape of Scorch boss located in the Great Mine. You need to slay this machine at least 10 times if you’re at Trailblaze Level 60 to get all materials, or spend 300 Trailblaze Power in total.
As for the rest of the items, you can get Artifex loot from the Automaton enemies from the Xianzhou Luofu. They’ll also drop these if you encounter them in the Simulated Universe, but the best way to get these is by sending your characters in Assignments as you can easily get 20 of the lower tier daily without much trouble.

Four-star characters demand fewer items than 5-stars, but they still need a ton of them. You’ll still be grinding those Obsidian materials calyxes for hours if you want her to have powerful burns, and there’s also a bunch of extra Artifex items you’ll need to grab on the way. It will take a while, so be patient.
And if you’re going for max-level traces, fighting Phantylia in the Echoes of War Weekly Boss scenario is obligatory as Guinaifen uses her items for her final Trace levels. Guinaifen herself is not that effective against her, but if you’re leveling her, you probably have Kafka. And Kafka alongside Sampo are a perfect duo to bring this huge girl down.
Leveling her can bring a lot to your teams, but don’t forget that you’ll need a lot of Experience Books and Credits on your way. But it might be more than worth it as some of Guinaifen’s abilities are greatly beneficial to DoT teams.
