Where to Find the Pick Axe in Cave F in Sons of the Forest

If you are eager to find the Pick Axe in Sons of the Forest, you should head out to the east-northeastern section of the island. On your handheld radar, you will spot two cave entrances. You should go to the one that’s more to the southwest. In the screenshot below, you will see a hole with a rope you can use to climb down. This cave is known as Cave F at this moment.

Make your way down the rope and be careful not to fall off because you might take fall damage or die. Start moving down and follow the cave stream, but be careful because after you pass through a tight corridor, there is a small waterfall that you can easily fall off of, so keep right after the corridor and slowly drop down. Turn around toward the waterfall and you will see a backpack with some items scattered about. For this next part, you will need a rebreather.

Dive in and follow the underwater tunnels. On your left, you will spot a hanging skeleton, and another one will appear in the middle. Turn left and keep swimming. After a while, the cave will force you to dive deeper, but you do not need to worry because you are just following where the path takes you (I noticed no options to make a wrong turn). When you get out of the water, go straight and climb over a small rock formation. You will inevitably see a bunch of planks that are blocking off the entrance to the next corridor. Smashy, smashy! However, a different item is located behind this “door.”

If you want to grab it, go ahead. It’s a mystery item! If you want to grab the Pick Axe, turn right and move forward until you find a long slide, down which you should drop. Whee!

Upon dropping into a small pond, you should dive down. When you reach the bottom, turn around until you spot a path you can swim through. Keep going forward, and you will spot two big rocks that split your way in two (it doesn’t matter which one you take; it’s the same corridor) and a hanging skeleton. Then, a large and visible path split will appear in front of you, and you should turn right (if you turn left, you’ll hit a dead end very quickly). After a short while, you can swim up and grab some fresh air.

You will immediately spot a broken wooden plank fence through which you should move.

Go straight, and once again, you will have to dive. Immediately after you emerge from the water, you will see three workers hanging from the ceiling.

Turn left and follow the path. Next to the small folding ladder, you can see the Pick Axe stuck in the ore. Now, it’s not an Excalibur moment, but by all means, get the Pick Axe out of there.

You will be able to find the Pick Axe in the right section of your inventory and the Solafite Ore that you dug it out of. Remember how the ore looks – you passed quite a few of the Solafite ore formations the first time you got in the Cave F.

When you are done mining, proceed down the cave, and you will encounter a light slope down which you can just run down. At the end, you will spot a rope you can use to climb up. After a short and tight corridor, you must jump into shallow water below. Keep running forward, and you will see another rope you can use to climb up. The cave exit is just ahead.
