If you’re wondering if you should break every fragile bone in Fingers’ face, the answer is yes. Feel free to cave that Ripper’s skull in because he offers no unique benefits, and there’s another Ripper down the road. In fact, the other Ripper’s even easier to get to than Fingers, making him especially useless.
Prior to patch 2.0., Fingers was a Ripper that sold the unique legendary cyberware QianT Sandevistan Mk.4 and Lynx Paws.
This cyberware, beyond costing a small fortune at $85,000 eddies, offered some significant benefits that made punching Fingers a bad practical choice. But as of patch 2.0, all Rippers in Night City have the exact same stock. And the higher your character level, the higher tier the cyberware you’ll see in their shop.
That means that punching out Fingers is actually the best possible thing to do. Fingers has been preying on the most vulnerable and desperate for years now; he sold off Evelyn to endure torture before having her last moments immortalized in a snuff film.
Before you punch him, be sure to get the iconic weapon Cottonmouth in his bedroom!
Narratively, and morally, it only makes sense to punch him. And it might be a good idea to punch him if you’re trying to romance Judy, too.
The only downside to punching him is that he’ll then refuse to sell to you. That is, if he’s still alive to tell you as much. If you choose to keep him as a vendor, you’ll need to wait at least one in-game day before he’s available to purchase from.
