Payday 3 differs heavily from its predecessors in adjusting the challenges you face in stealth-based on difficulty. Trying to complete a mission in stealth on Normal can often be quite easy, but trying to stealth that same mission on Overkill can be a serious challenge that requires hefty patience and proper timing. As mentioned, running a heist in Payday 3 on Overkill difficulty can provide some major challenges that seriously complicate a run. It’s because of this that I suggest you complete stealth runs of the heist on lower difficulties first since it’ll make those objectives much easier to understand. That, and having fewer things to worry about on Overkill is a must.
You should also bring a build with skill points invested in places that can help make a stealth run easier. These include but aren’t limited to:
- Infiltrator, Infiltrator tree (Aced).
- Quick Fingers, Infiltrator tree.
- Escapist, Escapist tree.
- Swift, Escapist tree.
- The entirety of the Hacker tree.
Overkill is extremely difficult, so these perks can help make your job just a touch easier. This is especially true for the Hacker skill tree, which I see as essential.
What is the Best Loadout for Overkill Stealth in Payday 3?
Having a good loadout can help immensely in running Overkill in stealth. I love the SA A144 with a silencer as my main weapon, as it makes long-distance shots much easier. The Signature 40 also provides reliable one-shot kills to the head for those close-range engagements. Besides weapons, running a Throwing Knife for your Throwable and an ECM Jammer for your Tool can be a massive help. To top things off, slap on some Standard Lining Armor for that sweet movement speed.
