How to Get the Soothe Bell in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Soothing your soul to a calmer state

Many Pokemon need some high Friendship Values to evolve, such as Riolu, Pichu and Munchlax. This evolution mechanic has been present since Friendship was introduced back in Gen II (it was technically there in Yellow, but in a slightly different way), and it’s no different in Scarlet and Violet. Fortunately, the recent games have the Soothe Bell to make things easier. Here’s where to find it in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Where to Get the Soothe Bell in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Soothe Bell can be bought from the Delibird Presents stores in Mesagoza, Cascafarra, or Levincia under the General Goods tab. This item will be available at the start of the game, so don’t worry about having to beat a few gym leaders before it shows up for purchase.

Each instance of Delibird Presents has a few exclusive items to itself, but Soothe Bell can be found in all of the three mentioned above. It costs 5000 Poke Dollars or 5000 LP, and you can buy as many of these as you want to increase Friendship for various Pokemon simultaneously.

How to Use the Soothe Bell in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

When held by your Pokemon, the Soothe Bell increases the amount of Friendship points it gets from all sources by 50%. This includes giving it Experience Candies, using them to defeat enemies without fainting (both normal battles and Auto battles count), washing them during picnics, and many other Friendship sources.

This is useful since many baby Pokemon need to reach a certain Friendship level before evolving. Catching them in Friend Balls and using the Soothe Bell are the two best methods to speed up the process. It can still take a while, though, so sit down, get some popcorn, and wait until you can finally evolve.

The Teal Mask DLC introduced a few Pokemon that have this evolution method, so you might wanna check out the whole list to prepare for them.
