How to Farm Money in Sea of Stars – Best Methods

In the second half of Sea of Stars, I found myself running out of gold constantly because of how much I was purchasing new weapons and armor for my entire party. These things add up quickly! I had a handful of decent ways to make money fast, though, which are as follows:

Tip:

Note that you can only hold 999 Gold at once.

Cook and Sell Your Meals in Sea of Stars

If you’re like me and you have to interact with literally everything, there’s no doubt you have a plethora of cooking ingredients in your inventory. While you could simply sell them as is, you get more bang for your buck if you cook a meal from them first.

If you can, I recommend cooking and selling the following meals to a Merchant for the most profit:

  • Braisé (x4 Potato, x6 Meat, x4 Bone, x3 Onion, x2 Grains) – Sells for 38 Gold.
  • Lasagna (x6 Tomato, x4 Meat, x3 Dairy, x3 Onion, x5 Grains) – Sells for 36 Gold.
  • Croustade (x6 Apple, x2 Grains, x1 Dairy, x2 Egg, x2 Maple Syrup) – Sells for 32 Gold.
  • Champion Omelette (x3 Bell Pepper, x3 Tomato, x5 Egg, x2 Onion) – Sells for 28 Gold.
  • Pain Doré (x3 Red Berry, x1 Dairy, x2 Maple Syrup, x2 Eggs, x3 Grains) – Sells for 25 Gold.
  • Gourmet Burger (x1 Lettuce, x1 Onion, x2 Mushroom, x2 Dairy, x1 Tomato, x3 Meat, x2 Grains) – Sells for 20 Gold.
Tip:

If you’ve unlocked Mirth, there’s an allotment that regularly gives you a ton of cooking ingredients for free.

Sell Your Fish in Sea of Stars

As you explore, you’ll come across Fishing Ponds in Sea of Stars. Fishing at these locations will net you Seafood and Filets, both of which can be sold at a Merchant or used in cooking recipes, which you can make even more of a profit from.

Catching fish can be tedious, especially if you’re farming it, so I’d only recommend this as your primary source of making money if you’re near the beginning of the game. You can make decent gold from fishing, but it is slow.

Make Sure You Sell Old Equipment in Sea of Stars

As you swap out your weapons and armor for better versions, don’t just let your old equipment gather dust in your bag. Unneeded weapons and armor can fetch a pretty penny when sold at a Merchant, so make sure you’re offloading spare equipment regularly.

This is especially important if you’re buying new weapons or armor because selling your old equipment once you’ve swapped it out means your pockets are taking less of a hit.

Play Wheels in Sea of Stars

Wheels is a fantastic, albeit slow, way of farming gold in Sea of Stars. Each time you win a Casual game, you receive 10 Gold. It may take some time to get used to the way Wheels works, but once you’re a seasoned Wheels player, you can earn money quite quickly by doing this.

I used Wheels as one of my primary sources of income when I needed to take a break from the story—relaxing and making some dough? Count me in.

Open Every Chest You See in Sea of Stars

This is an obvious one, but treasure chests can house items that sell for a decent chunk in Sea of Stars. Opening every chest you see and then going to a Merchant to offload everything and make big bucks is so satisfying. Some chests even reward you with straight-up Gold.

There were several occasions when I found valuable ore or lower-stat equipment that I had no use for, which quickly led to my pockets filling up with money with minimal effort.

Speaking of ore, if you’ve unlocked the Quiz Master in Sea of Stars, you can earn ore as a reward for completing Question Packs. You’ll also need to complete every Question Pack if you want to unlock the Sea of Stars True Ending.
