Another anime game is out for my wallet, but before you think this is just another waifu collection game, you gotta know a little more about Wuthering Waves and the game devs behind them. Kuro Games has come out with some fantastic games before this one, Wuthering Waves will be their branching out into an open-world exploration type of game that involves strategic puzzles, chests and treasures to nab, and all the fun domains and raids we’re used to seeing on these types of games. What with all of these new features to look forward to, there is one important detail you gotta know.
Will Wuthering Waves be a Gacha Game?
Yes, Wuthering Waves will most certainly be a gacha game, and this information is backed based on the Beta trials that occurred back in the months of late March and April with several people who signed up for preregistration allowed access to a beta trial for the game. This allowed them to experience the first few chapters that we could expect to see when starting the game, some world exploration and experimentation with the puzzle mechanics we can hope to see once the game is in full development, not to mention having an absolute blast with the battle mechanics that Kuro Games is sure to deliver on.
The reason why I’m so hyped for this game is that it is created by the same people who did Punish Gray Raven, and yes, like this game, PGR is also a gacha game. We may expect to see the gacha system work similarly to PGR, however, based on the beta trials, it does seem that Wuthering Waves is creating a system where they are making unique and rare Five-Star characters available for a short time to create hype around that character being limited. Much like other gacha games. We will expect to see a set standard few characters that are available in the case you do lose the chance to get the rare character depicted in the banner. And it even appears to be a 50/50 chance rate.
It looks like Wuthering Waves will also be taking a more basic route of involving rare Five-Star characters, your basic Four-Star characters that you’ll be able to upgrade easily, especially if you get multiples of them within a banner, and weapons to slot onto those characters.

Given that the game is still in development, we can expect to see many changes come between now and when it will actually be available for the public on a global server. We still don’t yet have an official release date for the game, but with each passing week, we can expect to receive more news on the game’s development. Kuro Games has been making massive expansions further with their games and given their success with Punishing Gray Raven, you can expect Wuthering Waves to be a massive success if they can just get their publicity rolling for it.
