If you are anything like me, fishing is one of the most important and enjoyable things that you can do in any farming simulator game. There is something so enjoyable about casting your rod out and reeling in some fish. Therefore, obtaining a fishing rod is usually one of my top priorities when I begin a game that includes fishing. Sometimes it isn’t as obvious as to where the location of said fishing rod is. Keep reading to find out where to find the fishing rod in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life.

Where is the Fishing Rod in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life?

As you explore Forgotten Valley for the first time, you will notice that there are numerous bodies of water just waiting for you to fish in them. Rivers, ponds, and even the ocean are just beckoning you to see what goodies they have lurking beneath the surface. Unfortunately, a fishing rod wasn’t one of the tools that you were given at the start of the game.

Instead, you will need to wait until the traveling merchant, Van, comes to Forgotten Valley. He comes to sell his wares twice a season, on the 3rd and the 8th. When this date comes, make sure you head into town between the hours of 12:00PM to 6:00PM to catch him. From there, simply interact with him, see what he has for sale, and buy the fishing rod of your dreams.
