The trailer for Disney’s upcoming Wreck-It Ralph looks like a whole lot of fun. Taking place in a video game world featuring a number of familiar faces, the story revolves around a game villain trying to jump into a better game experience.
And now you can take said experience outside the movie’s perimeters. Disney and Activision announced today that it is bringing Wreck-It Ralph to Nintendo consoles later this year, including the Wii, 3DS and Nintendo DS. (No word yet on a Wii U version.) The game will resemble a “classic arcade video game with a whole new modern look and feel”, one that’s sure to inspire a “whole new generation of young gamers.”
“Wreck-It Ralph, as a brand entity, is perfectly suited for video game stardom,” said David Oxford, Executive Vice President, Activision Publishing. “With the fantastic characters and creative atmosphere envisioned by Walt Disney Animation Studios, we know fans are going to love seeing their newfound favorite characters embark on an all-new side scrolling adventure.”
The game will feature two-player co-op on the Wii version, along with the ability to solve puzzles and earn Hero Medals. To give away any of the rest of the plot would spoil the movie…and that’s not us.
Look for the game to release alongside the movie this November.
