Who would want a gun for a hand?

When it comes to Resident Evil games, nothing is more important than the arsenal you bring along for your adventures. You have only a limited amount of inventory space, so you need to carefully pick which weapons you want to bring with you for the ride. Ideally, the best of a few categories of weapons will be your best bet. That brings us to the question, which handgun would be the best weapon to bring along? Here’s what the best handgun is in Resident Evil 4 Remake.

Which Handgun is the Best One in the Resident Evil 4 Remake Remake?

To narrow down what the best handgun is in Resident Evil 4 Remake, we first need to narrow down which handguns are not the best. To that end, we’re going to immediately eliminate the SG-09 R. This handgun isn’t bad by any stretch, but as it’s the first handgun you unlock, it doesn’t hold a candle to the rest. We’re also going to immediately eliminate the Matilda, as it comes in very late while also being a burst pistol, something that will likely waste ammo more than help you kill enemies faster.

That leaves three handguns on the table: the Punisher, the Red9, and the Blacktail. You could use any of these three options and not go wrong, but from our experience with the game, we suggest the Red9 the most. It might not be the most modern of the pistol options, but where it lacks in modernity, it makes up for in raw power. If you’re willing to invest and score the upgrades for it, this pistol can be an absolute beast and will carry you through most encounters, even bosses. The stopping power is insane, and it can be outfitted with a staggering 16-round magazine.
