Compared to the other weapon classes in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play, the sniper rifles have far more viable options for players to pick up. The SP-X 80 is the clear meta pick at the moment, but rifles like the Victus XMR can still make a solid statement with the right build.

Before you pick up this .50 cal rifle, keep in mind that it’s not the best sniper in COD MW2 Ranked Play and not usually recommended. With that said, the Victus XMR still packs a massive punch and can be thrown into a viable loadout with the right attachments involved.

COD MW2 Ranked Play – Best Victus XMR Loadout

Damage per shot is the best aspect of the Victus in Modern Warfare 2. All snipers have one-shot potential, but the Victus has a much larger hitbox for one bullet. That comes at the cost of speed and mobility, which means we need to counterbalance our build. All of the necessary attachments can be found below.

Victus XMR Ranked Play Loadout:

  • Barrel: Mack 8 21.5 Short
  • Rear Grip: Bruen Q900 Grip
  • Stock: XRK Rise 50
  • Ammunition: .50 Cal High Velocity
  • Optic: SP-X 80 6.6x

The first two attachments we need are the Mack 8 21.5 Short barrel and the Bruen Q900 Grip rear grip. Both of these are used for ADS speed and handling so that scoping in doesn’t take a year to pull off. Add the XRK Rise 50 stock as a third mobility piece and now we have something usable in MW2 Ranked Play.

Our other two attachments are supporting items. The .50 Cal High Velocity ammunition is great for bullet speed, but it must be tuned for more velocity and more damage range. Then we have the SP-X 80 6.6x optic, which is optional. The standard Victus XMR scope in COD MW2 is a bit too far zoomed in, but it’s really a personal preference.
