How to Get the Finishing Touches Achievement in Hogwarts Legacy

To complete the Finishing Touches achievement (or trophy if you’re on PlayStation), use ancient magic on enemies in the game. While its description says you must use it on every enemy, this doesn’t include ones you can only defeat once and never fight again. How Do I Know if I’m Missing Any Enemies?

Unfortunately, there isn’t any way to specifically track which enemies you’ve used ancient magic on besides keeping a mental note of which you frequently face. Aside from this, it’s a lot of guessing and fighting these opponents again until the achievement/trophy activates.

The one I was missing for this achievement after I finished my playthrough was the regular Mongrel. While I’d fought plenty of Dark Mongrels throughout the game, Mongrels are slightly rarer and mainly appear alongside other enemies in areas like the Forbidden Forest and Hogsmeade Valley. Dens also mainly spawn their dark counterparts, but occasionally, you may find a lone Mongrel outside the den.

Another enemy you may miss is one of the trolls. There are troll lairs scattered around the entire map, with different ones housing various types. Be sure to visit them and mark off which ones you have and haven’t used ancient magic on!

One last one to keep an eye out for is the Animagus and its wolf form. If you defeat the Poacher Animagus before it turns into a wolf, you won’t get credit for using ancient magic on both. Make sure to use magic on its human and wolf forms or fight multiple of these enemies.

Where to Find Enemies for the Finishing Touches Achievement/Trophy in Hogwarts Legacy

A great place to find numerous enemies is in the battle arenas in North Ford Bog, Feldcroft and the Forbidden Forest’s Dark Arts Battle Arena if you have it unlocked. All three spawn waves of enemies that you can use ancient magic on to progress toward the achievement. If you want to encounter many different monster types at once, this is a surefire way to knock out some.

Another method is to visit dens around the map. Troll and spider dens are a go-to, but Mongrel and Inferius can help if you’re unsure whether you’ve faced these enemies. Similarly, you can travel around the map for bandit camps to fight goblins and human enemies!
